Legal & Policy Committee elected

The inaugural session of the EBU's Legal & Public Affairs Assembly took place in Zagreb on 19-20 May 2011, at the kind invitation of HRT. The Assembly was created in December 2010 when the EBU General Assembly decided to restructure the Union's legal and public affairs activities.
The Legal & Public Affairs Assembly discussed a wide range of legal and public policy and issues covering such domains as hybrid broadcasting, spectrum, freedom of expression, the impact of WikiLeaks, copyright and sport.
During the session, elections were held to form the new Legal and Policy Committee. Peter Weber (ZDF) was unanimously elected Chairman, and Matteo Maggiore (BBC) was unanimously elected Vice-Chairman.
