EBU and FIA agreement for 2012 World Rally Championship

Geneva, 29 June 2012 – The FIA is pleased to announce it has finalised a broadcast agreement with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and its internal production company EPC for the 2012 FIA World Rally Championship season.
The agreement confirms that EPC will continue to film and produce the programming to HD standard, while EBU will be responsible for rights and distribution to a global audience.
Since forming its relationship with the FIA in March, the EBU has been able to secure consistent and efficient worldwide distribution of the World Rally Championship, drawing on its strong relationship with its members.
In addition to renewing agreements with previous broadcasters, the EBU has been able to add prestigious networks to the WRC portfolio, ensuring extensive worldwide coverage to potential viewers in 120 countries.
The EBU will also provide the online video services to WRC.com, the official website of the World Rally Championship which is now managed by the FIA. With more than 114 million page views and almost six million unique visitors in 2011, WRC.com is one of the leading motor sport websites in the world.
