Eurovision at Sportel
17 October 2012

'Reliable, dedicated and indispensable,' – that's the message Eurovision's Sports & Business teams have been promoting at Sportel, the major sports conference held every year in Monaco.
The event is one of the most important in the Sports and Business calendar. With around 1,500 delegates representing all the world's top sports, department director Stefan Keurten says the event offers Eurovision an opportunity to build on existing relationships with the top sports federations and agencies, and to meet new players keen to bring their sport to fresh audiences, in territories within our state-of-the-art network.
"All our top partners are here in force, and we can tell a great story," Mr Kuerten said. "We've had a great summer delivering the events that dominate the ratings: the London Olympics, and the EURO 2012. We've made a great start to the new Champions League and Europa League season, and we have the start of the NBA season in November when we distribute their live games and pre-produced programming around the world."
He continued: "Eurovision has the full range of top quality products the federations are keen to use, whether acquiring or re-selling rights, event production, transmission on the network, or streaming to the broadband market. We have it all, and we have it in proven quality."
Jim Scott, Business Manager for North America added: "This NBA win is a game-changer for us in the US. Now we sit at the top table alongside all the major sports, and we hope this will lead to further gains in this super-competitive market."
