Vice-President and DG visit Moscow
03 October 2012

EBU Vice-President Claudio Cappon and Director General Ingrid Deltenre visited the Union's Russian Members and Moscow office during a two-day mission to Moscow.
Mr Cappon and Ms Deltenre were hosted in the Russian capital by Executive Board member Petr Fedorov of RTR. They had friendly and constructive meetings with RTR, Channel One and Voice of Russia, asking them how the EBU could serve them better and urging them to take a more active part in the life and strategic thinking of the Union.
They also met Alexey Nikolov, managing editor of the international news channel RT (Russia Today), which recently joined the so-called "Bruges Group" of European international broadcasters. Established in 2005 and now broadcasting in English, Spanish and Arabic, RT aims to distinguish itself from other international news channels by "covering different stories, or the same stories differently".
The EBU Vice-President and Director General also visited the EBU's Moscow office, which has been led for more than 20 years by Belgian national Dirk Verhulst.
