Korean broadcasting system (KBS): new president & ceo

Gil Hwan-young has begun a three-year term as the 20th President & CEO of EBU Associate Member, KBS.
Mr Gil was appointed by the President of Korea, Lee Myung-bak, on the recommendation of the KBS Board of Governors on November 23, 2012.

During an inauguration ceremony, Mr Gil said KBS would use creative content to reverse pressures on the broadcasting industry caused by the global squeeze.

Since joining KBS as a TV producer in 1981, Mr Gil has held key positions including foreign correspondent in Paris, Executive Director of Programming & Planning, Managing Director of Content Division and Executive Vice President.
