Media professionals have been invited to sign up for the inaugural European Media Sailing Race on June, 14 and 15 in Rijeka, Croatia's largest port.

The two-day regatta has been organized by Croatia's public service broadcaster HRT and the city of Rijeka, as part of celebrations to mark Croatia's full membership status with the European Union on July 1, 2013.

Participants must be media professionals from an EBU Member radio or television broadcaster, and will represent their respective countries.

Organizers will provide sailing boats to all registered media crews and in lieu of a participation fee, participants will be encouraged to publish news about the event or broadcast a promotional story about the regatta and the event location.      

The race will be held as part of the international sailing event Fiumanka, which attracts up to 200 yachts and more than 2000 participants each year.
