Euroradio Contact Engineers group meets in Barcelona

The Euroradio Contact Engineers Bureau met in Barcelona on 15-16 March, at the kind invitation of Catalunya Ràdio.
 

The main items of the agenda were the following: 

  • M2M (Music to Members) is the new file delivery system of Euroradio developed by Nicolas Mizel. With this system, more than 3,000 concerts are exchanged among Members. The contact engineers discussed the new features of this system, making possible the exchange of multimedia content (pictures, text, video, additional audio, etc.) for multiplatform radio and the bilateral exchange of files among Members.

 

  • The updating of the mandatory services (News and Radio) on the EBU satellite network will be implemented by the FNRMN project.  Carsten Gertzen and Wim Moortgat are involved in this project, and provided feedback to Bureau members.
     
  • The group had an in-depth discussion on multiplatform radio and video within Euroradio. Christian Vogg expressed his views on video and showed the new video platform for Euroradio.


The Bureau also prepared the upcoming Euroradio Contact Engineers Assembly in Leuven. The main topics on the agenda are the M2M system, the live network (FNRMN project), video for radio and new technologies like loudness, audio over IP and digital radio.
