SSGP 2013 awarded recordings announced

Radio and Television Slovakia has announced the 2013 awarded recordings of Svetozár Stracina Grand Prix, the international competition featuring the best recordings of authentic folk music entered and produced by radio stations of the EBU Members.

The prestigious forum of folk music was held from 19-22 March in Bratislava, at the kind invitation of Radio and Television Slovakia. First held in 2003, the aim of the competition is to promote the creation of traditional and arranged folk music recordings and to stimulate the international exchange in the field of folk music. 

This year, some 60 folk music recordings took part. The awarded ones are:

  • Special Prize for live recording: Nº 30 Nysnabbe, Swedish Radio
  • Special Prize for artistic performance: Nº22 Girls' Amusement from Somogyi County, Media Service Support and Asset Management, Hungary
  • Special Prize for the most sucessful collection of recordings: Radio and Television Slovakia, Recordings Nº 11 Sheep's Death, Nº 16 Song in Passing Time, Nº 41 There was a girl, Nº 48 Wedding Songs from Sumiac Village
  • Svetozár Stracina Grand Prix: Nº 57 Duo for one, Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
