EBU names Emmanuel Frantz as next Chief Financial & Administrative Officer

Emmanuel Frantz will be the next EBU CFAO

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has appointed Emmanuel Frantz to be its next Chief Financial & Administrative Officer (CFAO).

Mr Emmanuel Frantz will join the EBU on 1 June 2014 and will become CFAO on 1 August 2014 following a period of handover.

Mr Frantz brings 25 years of valuable international financial leadership experience.

He joins the EBU after six years as Yahoo EMEA’s Vice-President of Finance Operations, where he led a comprehensive programme of structural and operational enhancements. Before that he was CFO of Kodak EMEA; VP Finance & Operations EMEA for CREO Inc.; and Senior Finance & Administration Director for pharmaceutical company Merck & Co. Inc.

A French citizen, Mr Frantz speaks French, English, Spanish and German. He has lived and worked in France, Belgium, Israel and Switzerland and holds a Masters in International Business from the University of Alsace, France.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Frantz said: “I’m thrilled to join the EBU’s management team at a decisive time for media organizations in Europe and beyond. I believe firmly in the importance of public service broadcasting. Now I can make a direct contribution to its future success.”

Incumbent CFAO Wallace Macmillan will leave the EBU on 31 July 2014 after three years in the post. The EBU sincerely thanks him for his contribution and achievements during that time.
