EBU Knowledge Exchange: Full 2014 programme released

The EBU's Media Intelligence Service (MIS) has published the full programme for this year's EBU Knowledge Exchange on the event's website.

Featuring a strong line-up of contributors, this year's event is focused on offering insight and generating ideas about how public service media (PSM) can better engage younger audiences. It takes place at the Norra Latin in Stockholm on 6 October.

Attendees will hear from 11 speakers from 8 different countries including keynote speakers Dr Ulla Carlsson, Professor and Director of the Nordic Information Centre for Media and Communication Research (NORDICOM) and Lars Thunø, Audience Research Manager at Danish EBU Member DR.

Sessions will concentrate on how PSM can exploit increased audience and device fragmentation as an opportunity to reach young people as well as exploring trends in their media lives and viewing habits. Among the speakers, professionals from IHS, Eurodata TV Worldwide, TNS-SIFO, Radio Results International and the Hans-Bredow-Institut in Hamburg will deliver ideas that aim to challenge the attendee’s perspective.

The event is also an opportunity to discover the triple approach to public service media in Sweden, with Swedish Television (SVT), Swedish Radio (SR) and UR, the educational broadcaster, showcasing their latest innovations in technology and content.

Dr. Roberto Suárez Candel, Head of the EBU's Media Intelligence Service said: "We have worked hard to engage a diverse range of speakers from across Europe, and from different backgrounds, including broadcasters, universities and other players in the media market. This variety of perspectives will bring a lively discussion and many new ideas to EBU Members.”

This unique conference, which is free to attend, has already generated wide interest among EBU Members and media researchers across Europe. Those wishing to participate are encouraged to register as soon as possible via the event website to secure their place.
