2014 News Xchange a sell out

News Xchange – Eurovision’s leading news industry conference which opens tomorrow (12/11) in Prague has sold out – for the first time in its 13 year history.

More than 530 media industry representatives from public service and commercial media, agencies, start-ups, governmental and non-governmental organizations, advertising and branding agencies, as well as industry suppliers, freelancers, academics, students and artists from more than 50 countries and nearly 200 different organizations will meet and exchange ideas at the event which is being hosted by EBU Member Czech Television.

After the success of last year’s edition in Marrakech, this year’s Xchange will focus on the news parameters organizations establish, in particular, how a media company is defined and the objectives it sets.

It will also explore whether media groups should partner hot start-ups and hitch their wagons to exciting but potentially dangerous stars. Other key themes include audiences with a particular focus on how to engage young people; user-generated content, and the coverage of wars.

Delegates are invited to attend a Film Festival on Tuesday night (11/11) ahead of Wednesday’s official opening. A series of optional thematic workshops will conclude the event on Friday.

News Xchange has also partnered with World Press Photo for the first time to show their photographers’ work during the intervals between sessions.

For those unable to attend the main events in Prague, News Xchange 2014 can be followed on Twitter via #NX14 or through Facebook.
