Polish colleague nominated for prestigious journalism award

Agata Kasprolewicz from Polish Radio has been nominated for the Ryszard Kapuściński Award, one of the most prestigious journalism distinctions in Poland.

Currently working as an intern in the EBU Radio unit, Agata was nominated for her radio feature “Sweden – coffee, crime novels and immigrants”. It is a story about modern Sweden and its struggle to maintain its core values such as tolerance and hospitability in the face of growing immigration challenges.

She joins EBU for a four month period, putting on hold her current role as a journalist, reporter and editor in the current affairs department of Polish Radio.

This is the second internship Euroradio has offered to Member colleagues. Agata will gain an in-depth view into EBU's radio business, including the music exchanges, strategic projects on digital radio and smart radio as well as the news exchange.

The Ryszard Kapuściński Award was established four years ago by the Polish Press Agency (PAP) to promote objectivity, integrity and curiosity.

It is given to the authors of the most reliable, objective and accurate features (texts and photographs) as well as radio and television reports that touch on contemporary issues and deepen our knowledge of other cultures.

Agata is one of three nominees. The winner will be announced on 2 December.
