Partnership Programme: Albanian public service journalists engage with EBU values and editorial principles
06 February 2015
Trainers from the EBU Partnership Programme teamed up with Eurovision ACADEMY this week (2 to 6 February) for an intensive workshop on public service values and editorial principles in Tirana, Albania.
21 journalists from EBU Member and public service broadcaster RTSH and its regional stations in Gjirocastra, Kukesi, Korca and Shkodra were introduced to the programme through a series of simulation exercises and case studies.
The editorial staff also received tips on enhancing presentation techniques.
Jonathan Stoneman, Eurovision ACADEMY Faculty member and BBC journalist said the programme provided a valuable period for reflection about the importance of editorial values.
"It’s vital that PSM understand – and live the values shared with other public service broadcasters," he said. "This was an opportunity to meet staff from RTSH – to provide a forum to discuss issues raised by the Editorial Principles."
The project is part of a comprehensive programme of support for PSM in EU accession countries co-funded by the EC and providing a comprehensive professional, legal, strategic, managerial and legal assistance.
