Euroradio Offer: Europe Day live

Euroradio Offer: Europe Day live

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is joining forces with the European Commission and other collaborators for Europe Day, an event dedicated to everyone with an interest in Europe and music.

The event will take place on 9 May, commemorating the same day in 1950, when French Foreign Minister Robert Shuman presented his proposal, the 'Shuman Declaration',  to encourage peaceful relations between European countries. This is considered to be the act that created the European Union.

Part of Live Europe, Europe Day will not only showcase bands such as Forever Pavot, Bokka and BRNS, but will also address issues regarding what can be done to allow music to cross borders in Europe, how music contributes to the European identity and how music can be the key to bring European people closer.

Laurent Marceau, Manager of Euroradio Eurosonic, says: "The European music scene is absolutely buzzing these days, and there's a wealth of great music around. Gone are the days when bands and artists could not cross borders, and we are proud that the EBU is at the heart of this event."

This event is a collaboration between the EBU, the European Commission, Ancienne Belgique and the European Youth Forum. Video content will be available to Members on Euroradio 2See.
