EBU welcomes new Director General of Bosnian Member BHRT
New BHRT Director General Belmin Karamehmedovic

The EBU has welcomed the announcement that Belmin Karamehmedovic has been appointed Director General of Bosnian Member BHRT (Radio and Television of Bosnia-Herzegovina) for a five year term.

50-year-old Mr Karamehmedovic has been acting Director General of BHRT since Muhamed Bakarevic stood down in May of this year. The decision on his permanent role was made by the broadcaster's Governing Council. There were six candidates in the running for the job.

The Council said that Mr Karamehmedovic's programme for the future of the broadcaster was the most feasible and comprehensive.

Belmin Karamehmedović has previously been a programme adviser to the DG, acting Director of BHT1, editor in chief of Sports and News and a TV news anchor.

He has also received the EBU Eurovision Academy certificate as a trainer on the EBU Values and Editorial principles.
