EBU welcomes New Acting Director General of TVR Romania

Partnership Programme: The EBU has welcomed Irina Radu as the new Acting Director General of Romanian Television. Ms Radu was appointed by the Romanian Parliament on 23 September.
With an extensive experience in broadcasting, Irina Radu began her career as a TV producer at the regional station of TVR in Iasi, Romania. Since then, she has had many roles at TVR including working as a journalist, anchor, head of special events (including The Golden Stag Festival) and programme director.
Between 1998 and 2002 she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Romanian Television. In 2000 she received an award from APTR (The Association of TV Professionals in Romania) for the show "Backstage” and in 2003 for the Golden Stag Festival. In 2001 she received the World Vision Award for her tv reports. Ms Radu also worked as a director of production at commercial tv station “Kanal D” and as general manager at Dogan Media International.
