Tunisia's independent media control authority (HAICA) sponsored a conference in Tunis between 7-10 October to discuss draft proposal reforms relating to the model and functioning of PSM in the country.

Keynotes from EBU Members Director Generals from Tunisian TV and Radio stated the challenges they are facing due to budgetary constraints (state budget will again decrease in 2016), broadcasters are still state controlled, over staffing, and heavily concentrated in the capital and not present enough in the rest of the country.

EBU presented papers on Governance, Funding and Transparency and will contribute to outcomes of hard (legislation, regulations) and soft (self-regulation codes) tools as well as with legal and policy making assistance.
