Euroradio Summer Festivals offer a full season of music galore
Royal Albert Hall, London, one of the venues of the BBC Proms

For two decades, the Euroradio Summer Festivals have remained true to their goal of providing radio audiences with a selection of the best classical music – symphony concerts, operas, chamber music and vocal recitals – from European festivals, both prestigious and lesser-known.

This year once again, from 13 June until 11 September, listeners will be able to choose from among over 350 programmes, all offered by EBU Radio Members and coordinated from the Euroradio Control Centre in Geneva.

Highlights of this year's offer range from such perennial and eagerly awaited events as Wagner's operas from Bayreuth, the BBC Proms and the Salzburg Festival, to Natalie Dessay singing Mendelssohn lieder at the Radio France Festival in Montpellier, and the Martha Argerich Project in Lugano with the famous pianist joined by friends and young colleagues.

There is also more unusual fare to be discovered, such as the Huelgas Ensemble’s rendition of the “O” Antiphons (medieval music from Cyprus) in Antwerp, or sacred Byzantine and Mozarabic chant from Jaroslaw (Poland).

As is the case every year, our in house team will benefit from the assistance of engineers from EBU Members to aid in the technical coordination of these concerts:

13 June-11 July: Krisztina Tóth (MTVA)

11 July-8 August: Jon Cergan (RTVS) and Angel Gotchkov (BNR)

8 August-11 September: Ireneusz Ogrodowski (PR) and Margus Koval (ERR)
