Three UCI World Tour races consolidate EBU Cycling Portfolio
13 October 2016
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has renewed its partnership with three organizers of the one-day races belonging to the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) World Tour for the next four years.
With these agreements the EBU has been granted the exclusive broadcast rights on all platforms to the following competitions:
- Amstel Gold Race (for EBU territory)
- Clasica San Sebastian (worldwide)
- Cyclassics Hamburg (worldwide)
These renewals, in addition to the recent partnerships signed with the UCI for the World Championships and with the Union Européenne de Cyclisme (UEC) for the European Championships, reinforce the EBU and its Members' cycling portfolio which already included for the coming years the most prestigious races of the international calendar such as Tour de France, Vuelta, Paris-Roubaix and Liège-Bastogne-Liège. The EBU offers a total of 110 cycling race days representing a total of 400 hours per season.
"The EBU is delighted to renew the partnerships with Amstel Gold Race, Clasica San Sebastian and Cyclassics Hamburg and to consolidate its unrivaled position in the coverage of cycling . Thanks to the support of our Members and partners, we are proud to offer a growing number of cycling races to the greatest number of cycling fans.” declared Julien Ternisien, EBU Head of Sports Rights – Summer Sports.
