CASE STUDIES
Czech Television CT3
In 2020, as the pandemic caused governments to order national lockdowns, Czech Television immediately swung into action. Straight away it became keenly aware that the country’s senior audiences were those most vulnerable, so it set up a CT3, a temporary channel for the over 65s. In addition, the Czech public broadcaster also created programming directed at its youngest audiences, whose schooling was severely disrupted by the pandemic. We spoke to Czech Television’s Director-General, Petr Dvorak, about the whole experience .
Petr Dvorak describes Diversity as knowing your audiences. It was therefore important to bring them value by serving their various needs directly during the pandemic. CT3 took weeks – not months or years – to go on air, thanks to the creativity and team spirit of staff who worked on it.
