CASE STUDIES
France TV pour tou.te.s
In 2016, France Télévisions made a firm commitment to the LGBTQ+ community. Signing an LGBTQ+ charter along with other enterprises present in France, the public broadcaster pledged to ensure a respectful, non-discriminatory and inclusive environment for people identifying as homosexual, bisexual or transgender. It has also signed up to equal rights and treatment for all employees regardless of affiliation. The corporation went a step further, extending its commitment to LGBTQ+ issues to cover content as well.
One of the initiatives backed by senior management is France.TV pour tou.te.s (France.TV for every.one), an Employee Resource Group (ERG) established in the summer of 2019. It is the first LGBTQI+ network in the country’s public audiovisual sector and was founded by LGBTQ+ employees. Composed of a rotating leadership of 6 people, its board includes 3 men and 3 women, of which 3 members are declared heterosexuals.
