Group meetings

AI & Copyright

The objective of this meeting is to trigger a first discussion on the positioning of Public Service Media with regards to the use of vast amounts of copyright protected material, including PSM content, to train generative AI system (e.g. Chat GPT, Bard). Previously discussed in the IP Group in May 2021 (see here and here – pages requiring EBU login), this topic is quickly gaining traction among EU policy makers in the context of the ongoing negotiations on the AI Act.

EBU permanent services will present an overview of the current state of play at the EU and international level before opening the floor for member contributions and Q&A.
