YouTube Strategies for Public Service Media

We’ve shared our experiences, mostly still experimenting with YouTube as both a social media platform and a distribution platform for podcasts. It’s a work in progress – stay in touch!

Emma Leyman, Sveriges Radio Podcast group, has just started an experimental phase to find new ways to promote podcasts on social media, particularly YouTube: “Important thing is to examine if we can convert social medial followers into podcast listeners.”

Over the past six months, ARD has tested audio-only podcasts on YouTube, leveraging the newly introduced RSS ingestion feature. David Kick, Business Development Platforms at ARD Partnermangement Audio and Voice: “Distribution on YouTube only via RSS doesn’t work.”
