First Semi-Final result Ten countries qualify for Final of 55th Eurovision Song Contest

Oslo, Tuesday 25 May 2010 – The first Semi-Final of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest took place in Oslo tonight, and was broadcast live on television via the Eurovision network in all the countries participating in the first Semi-Final and Germany, Spain and France. Contestants from 10 countries qualified for the Final of Europe's favourite TV-show.

Representatives from the following 10 countries qualified for the Final (in order of announcement):

•Bosnia & Herzegovina
•Moldova
•Russia
•Greece
•Portugal
•Belarus
•Serbia
•Belgium
•Albania
•Iceland  
All the qualifiers were determined by a mixed vote by televoters and juries (5 music industry professionals) in all tonight’s 17 participating countries, as well as viewers and juries in Germany, France and Spain.

A second Semi-Final, to select a further 10 countries, will take place in Oslo on Thursday 27 May 2010 (21:00 CET).

Five countries are already in the line up for Saturday's Final. Germany, Spain, United Kingdom and France, plus the host country Norway, qualify automatically under the rules. A total of 25 countries will take part in the Final, which will be held in Oslo on Saturday 29 May 2010 (21:00 CET).
