On September 29 a meeting was held by the EBU for young PSB media professionals in Rome. The debate was moderated by the chair of the EBU News Assembly Hans Laroes  and former editor-in-chief of NOS-News in the Netherlands.

It focused on the role of public service media and core questions such as the role of Public Service media in Europe, competitors and how PSM is coping with the challenges of new media developments, new technology and new and big market entities like Google, YouTube and Facebook. The objective of the meeting was to seek input from the younger generation and to encourage the expression of different and fresh views on these challenges.
