New DG for NABA

Michael McEwen has been appointed Director General of EBU sister organisation, North American Broadcasters Association (NABA).

Mr McEwen’s career highlights include production and executive roles with CBC/Radio-Canada and a long association with NABA as a past Director, President and Secretary General. He is also known as an innovator, having helped implement new technologies including Digital HD Television in Canada.

Mr McEwen takes charge from retiring Secretary General, John Harding.

This appointment follows NABA's recent election of Robert D. Briskman,   to serve as NABA’s new President, succeeding Leonardo Ramos of Televisa. Mr Briskman's two-year term began recently at the NABA Annual General Meeting on February 29, 2012.
