13 September 2012
Building on Eurovision's decade-long collaboration with La Biennale, Media House Eurovision Roma (MHER) provided comprehensive production and transmission services at the 69th Venice Film Festival which wrapped up this weekend. The jury assigned the top prize, the Golden Lion, to “Pieta,” a Korean mother-and-son drama. Paul Thomas Anderson's anticipated new film, “The Master” scooped up the Silver Lion for best director, with the film's leads, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix, sharing the best actor award.

Eurovision was exclusively charged with the international and on-site distribution of the official festival coverage, with an average of 5 hours daily images provided by RAI Movie. The Eurovision team also provided daily highlights for the EVNs and for the Biennale website, tailor-made coverage of collateral events, standup positions overlooking the red carpet, workspaces, editing facilities, SD and HD transmissions.
“Our relationship with La Biennale built up through many years of solid work is the essential platform to maintain and hopefully further develop services for la Mostra. MHER has a truly central role for international customers of the event, being effectively part of the organization of the event.” said Elena Pinardi, MHER bureau Chief.
MHER Managing Director Paolo Pusterla added : “An expanded base of users for our services has developed over time. We work extensively with the Mostra’s sponsors such as a major jewellery house which this year doubled the volume of services with MHER. Offering of services span from the usual One-Stop-Shop (OSS) to broadband streaming and more.”
