As voters and candidates head into US election day on November 5, Eurovision News is there with proven events and coverage expertise that broadcasters trust – plus a new look and leadership on the way.

After months of planning, Eurovision News teams are set up at exclusive rooftop positions near the White House to support the reporters and newsrooms of our Members and clients on this huge story. Our crews are also preparing positions for the Harris and Trump election night events to help journalists get the latest news to audiences even faster.

To build on our strengths and bring our teams closer, the way the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) gathers, shares and supports news from the Americas is evolving with the transition to a new name and structure by the spring of 2025.

Kim Gittleson has already started work as Executive Vice President of Eurovision News Americas and Martin Schmidt-Bleek has been named as Vice President of News.

“Under the Eurovision News Americas banner, our teams in Washington and New York will soon be even more directly connected to EBU Members and our wider clients as we get the story out for journalists and event organisers across the Americas and around the world,” said Liz Corbin, Director of News at the EBU.

“Kim and Martin add amazing depth and energy at this exciting time for us and our clients as we flow into more big events in the Americas like the APEC summit in Peru, the G20 in Brazil, the US presidential inauguration in January and many others in the new year.”

Gittleson brings more than 15 years to Eurovision News Americas as an award-winning journalist and editorial leader at the Economist, BBC, Wall Street Journal and podcast company Prologue Projects. Having grown up in the United States, she blends a global outlook with rich perspective on the American story.

Schmidt-Bleek combines his five years of experience at Eurovision in Washington with various roles over his career at Reuters Video, including Europe Editor. An American and German national, he works closely with broadcasters and digital outlets.

For breaking news and major events, Eurovision News teams provide high-quality, cost-effective services to media outlets around the world – from bespoke consulting on design and distribution to location stand-ups, playouts, workspaces, live-streaming, crews, editing, studio hire, circuits and more.
