New File Exchange Platform IPOP unveiled

Following
the period of consultations and analysis of requirements since the start of the Transition to File project in September 2010, the Members saw the unveiling of the File Exchange Platform IPOP that will replace the current file delivery system in 2013 at the third Transition to File workshop held in Geneva on 27 September 2012.
35 Member organizations represented by more than 80 participants, both editorial and technical contacts, met to discuss the future operations of the File Exchange Platform.
The target date for the switchover from Superpop system to the IPOP of the File Exchange Platform is planned for 1 October 2013 with the overlap
period preceding it.
The File Exchange Platform (FEP) is a solution for file contribution and distribution which will replace SPOP in its distribution part, allowing video content and metadata reception via a dedicated satellite channel (Xtranet).
