European Jazz Competition 2011
The EBU has launched the 2013 European Jazz Competition in partnership with the Nederlandse Publieke Omroep/Radio 6 (NLNPO), the Dutch Foundation for the European Jazz Competition (EJC Foundation) and Buma Cultuur.
The EBU European Jazz Competition aims to encourage, promote and make known young musicians in jazz ensembles through recording sessions, broadcasts by Member organizations of the European Broadcasting Union and by providing them with the possibility of performing on stage at concerts as part of internationally renowned festivals.
Each EBU Radio Member organization may present young jazz musicians as candidates, with up to two ensembles (=candidates) per radio organization. Your recordings will be listened to by a jury of 7 members which will be set up by the Chair of the Jazz Group.
The four best ensembles shall be declared “Winners of the semi-finals of the 2013 European Jazz Competition” and shall automatically be selected for the finals, which shall take place on Saturday, 29 June 2013 at the Lantaren Venster in Rotterdam (The Netherlands), during the 2013 Jazz Dag (Jazz Day) as part of the North Sea Around Town Festival.
Deadline for sending the application forms (one per candidate) is 31 March 2013.
