71st EBU winter General Assembly attracts record numbers of senior executives

An increasing number of senior level public service media (PSM) executives will attend the two day European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Winter General Assembly, which opens in Geneva this Thursday, 5 December. 134 delegates have registered for the meeting, many of whom are Director Generals or Presidents from EBU Members.

The report of the president Jean-Paul Philipot and the director general Ingrid Deltenre will be presented to delegates on the opening day. A major draw-card for executives is Friday's presentation and panel discussion on the future of PSM.

This session follows a year-long investigation by the project group Vision2020, tasked with identifying the main trends and key challenges facing the EBU Community within the context of an ever more rapidly changing media landscape. The project's final conclusions will be presented to the 2014 Summer General Assembly.

The GA will also fill two vacancies of the eleven Member Executive Board for the remainder of the 2013-2014 term.
