EBU Community gathers at Rai studios in Naples for 72nd General Assembly

Delegates are gathering for Thursday’s opening session of the EBU summer General Assembly, attended by Europe's leading public service media (PSM).

The two day assembly hosted by Italian Member Rai will bring together more than 180 participants, including a record number of Directors general.

After an official welcome, delegates will receive the report of the Executive Board, presented by President Jean-Paul Philippot, followed by updates from the Personnel and Audit Committees.

Also on the agenda will be Financial and Membership issues, in addition to an update on the VISION2020 project – the EBU’s investigation into the shifting public service media landscape and ‘Proud to Present’ – a celebration of the best public service TV, radio and online content of the past 12 months.

On Friday, delegates will participate in a special session focused on the benefits of over-the-top (OTT) applications and receive an update on the self-assessment and peer review, whereby carry out self assessments and/or peer reviews to evaluate their performance based on the Core Values of Public Service Media.

Presentations on Vision2020 and PSM Values will be made to the assembly by project leaders Ruurd Bierman and Hans Laroes.
