Berlin Summit to focus on new horizons for cultural radio programming

The EBU’s 9th annual conference for cultural radio managers and music channel directors will be held on Friday 24 October on the fringes of the Prix Europa awards.

Organized in Berlin by the Euroradio Culture Group, this year’s meeting will devote particular attention to innovative solutions in cultural programming by two EBU Associate Radio Members, NHK (Japan) and NYPR (New York), featuring a transpacific and a transatlantic round table.

Some 35 participants from 22 organizations in 18 countries will have the opportunity to exchange views on “Doing more with less” in the face of continuous budget and staff cuts.

The future of classical music on public radio and finding new ways to bring it to audiences will also be spotlighted at this year’s session, as will multimedia issues in general, and radio on the Web in particular.
