EBU and ASBU train trainers in public service editorial principles

From 25 to 28 November 2014, eight experienced journalists from Morocco (SNRT), Algeria (EPTV and ENRS) and Tunisia (Tunisian TV) were at ASBU headquarters in Tunis to become the future trainers in public service editorial principles.

Mrs Moufida Limam, Director of the office of the ASBU Director-General, greeted participants on behalf of ASBU. She welcomed this initiative and stated that ASBU wished to pursue its already fruitful cooperation with the EBU.

This workshop was led by two Eurovision ACADEMY trainers, Frédéric Frantz and Jonathan Stoneman.

The week-long course taught participants teaching techniques along with how to develop their own courses on editorial principles. The course placed particular emphasis on the need to practise, providing examples and practical exercises.

The participants understood the importance of these principles and the need to train their colleagues in order to promote public service values within their editorial teams.

Eurovision ACADEMY will now be providing these trainers with support to help them organize their courses.
