As the new European Commission took office in Brussels, “Shaping the Future of EU Media Policy” brought together press, commercial and public service radio and television broadcasters  to analyze the current state of the media in Europe and to advocate the best possible policies for Europe’s media sector to thrive in the coming years.

European Commission Vice-President for Values and Transparency Věra Jourová set the scene. Senior representatives from media and broadcasting industries, includingRichard Burnley, EBU Legal and Policy Director, laid out their vision for the future of media. And policy makers and industry joined panels to discuss competition in digital markets, maintaining quality journalism and stimulating a thriving media sector.
