Public Service Media's Contribution to the European Creative Sector

Public service media (PSM) make a huge financial contribution to the European creative sector, with content being a cornerstone of PSM strategies and financial priorities.

PSM spent almost EUR 18 billion in content in 2020, representing close to 60% of all their operating expenditures. PSM is also a content hub for original European content with 91% of TV output and 95% of the available PSM acquired VOD content being European content.
