A truly inclusive work culture with Equality 360
What does it mean to be a diverse, equitable and inclusive public service media (PSM) organization? Radio France is trying something different as it seeks to achieve that goal, through a new initiative called "Egalité 360⁰ (Equality 360⁰)". As the title suggests, this addresses all aspects of diversity to ensure the corporation develops a truly inclusive culture. The focus of Equality 360⁰ is both internal – the workforce – and external – the audience. Moreover, diversity is just as important for persons working behind the scenes to put shows on air as it is for those presenting or designing the content.
Equality 360⁰ is managed by an ad hoc committee that makes sure the initiative’s action plans are taken seriously at all levels. The committee has ensured that the initiative is embedded within every facet of Radio France – from policies to programmes specifically promoting Equality 360⁰. It also has its own brand logo. Because of this, many people have been under the impression that Equality 360 had been around for a lot longer than 9 months.
