Suspilne Ukraine: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy Project

How do you build a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Policy in the middle of a war? A mission Suspilne Ukraine achieved in partnership with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).

This unprecedented project was delivered in collaboration between the EBU DEI Strategic Initiative and EBU Transformation Services, combining the collective expertise of a team of DEI experts from public service media (PSM) organizations with a structured transformation framework.

A key objective was to establish a sustainable DEI framework that aligns with Suspilne’s long-term strategic goals, promoting diversity within the workforce and ensuring that content authentically reflects Ukraine’s society. As Ukraine strives to align its laws and standards with EU regulations as part of its EU accession process, Suspilne continues to operate under wartime conditions. Strengthening its public value through inclusion has become both a legal necessity and a strategic imperative.
