In our 2019 report on Democracy and Public Service Media, we focused on how a nation’s democratic health relates to the strength of its public service media. For many Europeans, Public service media are the place to go for trustworthy and reliable information. They are a natural treasure making a unique contribution to the cornerstone of people’s freedom.
At the same time, the state of democracy and political stability is challenged in more and more countries across Europe and beyond, generating insecurity among citizens and lowering their levels of trust in media and institutions. But no democracy can work without media holding power to account, contributing to the public debate and bringing the voices of citizens to the public arena.
Join this session to discover the results of our new research on Democracy and Public Service Media, including key elements from our Trust in Media report too.
