The second edition of the EBU AI Summit was held on 6 December in Lausanne, Switzerland, and brought together 460 participants from 96 organizations across 49 countries.  Representing nearly all EBU Members, this flagship event explored the potentials and challenges of AI in public service media through an engaging mix of keynotes, panels, and hands-on sessions.

An opening keynote by Delphine Ernotte Cunci, EBU President and CEO of France Télévisions, set the stage with a vision for AI's role in media. This was followed by a presentation from Jean Philip De Tender, EBU Deputy Director General, who shared insights from the EBU on how AI is shaping the future of public service media.

The event featured high-level panel discussions with expert and Industry leaders from BBC, France Télévisions, SVT and others, on AI-driven strategies for innovation, ethics, and governance.

A fireside chat with Prof. Yuval Noah Harari renowned historian and best-selling author discussed the impact of AI on society and the future of humanity, with a strong emphasis on the role of public service media and trusted journalism.

The event also featured hands-on demos, skill-building sessions by the EBU Academy’s School of AI, and workshops on accessibility, IP, and audience engagement.

All sessions will be made available as video talks below (members only).
