Spanish European Broadcasting Union member – Corporación de Radio y Televisión Espanola (TVE) scooped five awards at the annual TV Academy Awards.

The network news service was recognized for its outstanding achievement in the categories:

• 24h News Channel – Best Thematic Channel
• La1 News Bulletins Telediario – Best News Programme
• Ana Pastor, “Los Desayunos” director and anchor – Best Anchor
• Informe Semanal program producers – Best Producer
• En Portada – Best documentary programme

Director Asun Gómez Bueno, who collected the award for Best Thematic Channel, paid tribute to her colleagues and commented on the important role of public service media.

"We all should think about the importance of the public service media. Colleagues and citizens trust us. We must keep working and walking the path on which we started eight years ago with conviction, coherence and discernment."

Ms Bueno also paid tribute to Fran Llorente, who has headed TVE News for the past eight years.
