Europe will come together once again on Saturday, 10 May, for the  Grand Final of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, in Denmark.

A final decision on which city will host the event will be made over Summer by Danish EBU Member DR from a choice of three – the capital Copenhagen, Herning in central Denmark and Horsens on the central east coast.

The semi-finals will take place on Tuesday 6 May, and Thursday 8 May.

Pernille Gaardbo, Executive Producer of the contest on behalf of Host Broadcaster DR said the date offers flexibility: "We have sought to find a date that suits the cities that are competing to host the contest and one which also fits the schedules of our European colleagues. We hope it will also please the millions of Eurovision fans worldwide."

The 2013 contest, which was won by Emmelie de Forest of Denmark with the song Only Teardrops, reached an estimated 170 million people.
