EBU: Vienna ‘Ours’ Next Week

The EBU is proud to host three major events in Vienna next week for leading experts in television, radio, media, branding and future proofing.
The event brings together more than 100 professionals from public service media (PSM) for a packed schedule highlighting innovation, creativity and excellence among Multiplatform Broadcasters.
The agenda includes an exciting range of topics:
- Going back to basics for TV2 Denmark
- The use of ‘neuromarketing’ to save unnecessary advertising costs
- How to effectively reach children in the social media age
- Why ITV ‘transformed’ its channel rather than ‘rebrand’ it
- What programme ideas make it beyond the initial pitch stage at VRT and why they stand out
- YouTube lessons, successes and connections for RTBF and VRT
- NRK imagines that the future is right now
- Sound branding and the physiological factors that should be considered
- How to promote the same programme in three different ways
The conference concludes with the highly-coveted Eurovision Connect Awards, with the participants voting ‘live’ for their favourites in ten award categories.

An opportunity for TV directors and decision-makers in public service media (PSM) to discuss common issues, successful ideas and strategies in television management, production and programming.
Emerging issues in public service broadcasting will be examined through inspiring presentations and interactive discussions that tackle the requirements to provide a ‘return on society’ whilst also remaining innovative and relevant to today’s audiences.
The question ‘can constructive media empower society and build strong ties with the young audience?’ will be addressed in relation to the positive impact that content and services provide now and in the future.
The day will also see EBU Head of TV Bettina Brinkmann present the ‘Eurovision TV show reel’ highlighting Eurovision TV productions over the past twelve months. ‘Proud to Present’ celebrates the most outstanding productions from the EBU Community. There will also be a ‘Vision2020’ Q&A session with EBU Director General Ingrid Deltenre.
Elections will also be held for two TV Committee members, whose function is to oversee the operations of Eurovision TV and assist in steering the operational and strategic direction.
