Finalists for Rose d’Or to be revealed June 13

The finalists for the 2014 Rose d’Or entertainment programming awards will be revealed on 13 June, after a record number of entries were submitted.

Eurovision, the home of Rose d’Or, has received 400 entries from more than 100 broadcasters and production companies vying for the six available television and online video awards and three new awards for radio.

“It is not only the sheer number of entries, but also the extremely high standard of the programmes received that makes it so essential to spend more time assessing each entry. We want to ensure that nothing is overlooked, and that the very best programmes go through to the final,” says EBU Media Director Annika Nyberg Frankenhaeuser.

The six categories for television and online video are: Arts; Reality & Factual Entertainment; Game Show; Comedy; Sitcom; Entertainment.

The three new radio categories are: Comedy; Entertainment; Reality & Factual Entertainment.

Each category will be judged by separate panels of internationally renowned professionals in the TV, radio and online media arena.

“We extended the submission date from March to April at the request of some programme makers who needed more time to complete their entries. We were happy to accommodate this request, as to do so is in keeping with the Rose d’Or’s worldwide reputation for honouring excellence and creativity in entertainment programmes,” Ms Nyberg Frankenhaeuser says.

On 13 June, each jury will publish the finalists for their respective category. The winners will be announced at the Rose d’Or award ceremony, in Berlin, on 17 September.
