EBU Knowledge Exchange: Key data providers to share insights on young audiences
22 July 2014
The EBU’s Media Intelligence Service (MIS) is pleased to welcome two key players in the field of data provision to the 2nd annual EBU Knowledge Exchange hosted by the University of Stockholm.
Eurodata TV Worldwide, the leading international TV audience research and market intelligence company, and IHS Technology, global provider of media market data, forecasts and expert analysis, will both host sessions at the event, to be held at the Norra Latin in Stockholm on 6 October.
The goal of EBU Knowledge Exchange is to bring together the spheres of public service media and academia to seek strategic responses to the growing challenges facing public service media (PSM) today.
This year's event will look at how PSM can exploit increased audience fragmentation as an opportunity to reach young people.
Eurodata will demonstrate how, despite fears to the contrary, television has never been so popular, and highlight the importance of a "global multi-screen system" which incorporates catch up services and social networks in keeping younger audiences engaged.
IHS will explore the idea of a fragmented future, both in terms of devices and viewing, asking what the future "connected home" will look like. They will also share their observations of audiences today and where they are heading in the future.
Head of MIS Dr Roberto Suárez Candel said: "I'm really pleased to have such respected data providers onboard for this year's EBU Knowledge Exchange."
"The contribution of Eurodata TV and IHS will be invaluable in analysing how to address the challenge of connecting with younger audiences, and investigating the opportunities presented by the growing multiplicity of content and services."
