Bulgarian National Radio's training centre, the BNR Academy, has graduated its second intake of 12 journalists, taught entirely by the broadcaster's in-house trainers. The programme was set up with the aid of Eurovision ACADEMY and EBU’s Partnership Programme.
Following the success of the 2014 class, BNR selected 12 new journalists to attend this 20 day-course which began in January this year.
Ten modules were delivered over a five month period by the BNR Faculty made up of 10 senior journalists who were trained last year to teach the programme. The modules covered included key radio journalism skills: interviewing, voice and writing coaching, scripting news bulletins, feature writing, ethics, information and sources, reporting, social media and news flashes.
They selected appropriate candidates and planned the nine modules that cover key radio journalism skills. These were interviewing, voice and writing coaching, scripting news bulletins, feature writing, ethics, information and sources, reporting, social media and news flashes. The criteria for assessing the journalists' work was also decided. - See more at: http://www3.ebu.ch/contents/news/2014/10/first-12-journalists-graduate-fr.html#sthash.29WvEhF9.dpuf

After strict continuous assessment, the journalists took a final exam for which they prepared a radio report, a documentary feature and a summary memo. Their work was assessed by four people: two BNR Directors and two trainers from the BNR Academy. All acknowledged the excellence of the candidates' work.
The top student was Nadejda Tsekulova, a reporter at BNR's Channel Horizont.
On May 29, the 12 graduates received their final Eurovision ACADEMY - ESJ Pro - BNR Diploma from BNR's Director General Radoslav Yankulov.
The participants for the third BNR Academy Master Class in Radio Journalism will be selected before the end of the year and the course will begin in January 2016.
