Top choruses sing their hearts out at Let The Peoples Sing final

Denmark's Aarhus Girls’ Chorus have been named Best Vocal Ensemble at Euroradio's Let the Peoples Sing choral competition. The final of the biennial event was held on 11 October in Munich. To watch it, go here.

The choir was awarded the highly coveted Silver Rose Bowl.

This year’s event was hosted by Bavarian Radio and broadcast live as part of the Euroradio Concert Season. EBU Members had the possibility of providing listeners with additional content by embedding the Euroradio 2See player and the Visual Radio widget on their own Web sites.

The winners, selected by a seven-member jury chaired by DR's Bent Gronholdt, in each of the three main categories are:

Children and Youth*

DR (Denmark): Aarhus Girls’ Chorus

Young People's Chorus of New York City

Open (specialized repertory)

BNR (Bulgaria): Cosmic Voices Choir

BR (Germany): Madrigal Choir of the Munich Academy for Music and Theatre

*Following the event the EBU recognized that there was an administrative issue regarding the age limit in the Children and Youth Category.  Exceptionally, therefore the jury decided to award the Silver Rose Bowl to the Aarhus Girls' Chorus, and to have the prize in the Children and Youth category shared between the Aarhus Girls' Chorus and the Young People's Chorus of New York City.
