Juan-Pablo Garcia-Blanco from RTVE (Spain) and Sabrina Povšič Štimec from RTV (Slovenia) have been elected to serve on the EBU's Communications Directors Steering Committee.

They both gathered an equal number of votes at an Election during the group's bi-annual meeting in Ljubljana last week. They were jointly elected to serve for the remainder of the term (2016-2017) in place of Bruno Deblander who has left RTBF for a new role.

"Congratulations to the new members of the steering committee. I am sure they will make invaluable contributions to the group helping to shape its strategic direction as we progress with our joint marketing campaign to promote the benefits of PSM to audiences across the continent," said Michelle Roverelli, EBU Head of Communications.

Sabrina Povšič Štimec has been Head of PR at RTV Slovenia since 2003. A former journalist and editor, Sabrina regularly teaches PR and communications throughout Europe including running workshops for the Eurovision Academy and Microsoft.

Juan-Pablo Garcia-Blanco is the Co-ordinating Deputy Director of Communications and Institutional Relations at RTVE in Spain. He has 29 years strategic management experience in broadcasting and specialises in organisational issues, planning and communications.

They will join Joseph Hoban (RTE) and Manon Romerio (RTS) on the Steering Group.

The EBU's Communications Directors Group - Voice of PSM - is made up of communications professionals from public service broadcasters from throughout Europe who regularly come together to network, learn and share best practise.

The next meeting of the group will be hosted by RAI on 30-31 March 2017 in Rome.
