Elyes Gharbi - the new head of Tunisian Television (ETT) - visited the EBU's Headquarters in Geneva for the first time this week. 

Gharbi atttended a meeting of Director Generals of public service broadcasters from the Euromed zone and met with EBU Director General Ingrid Deltenre to discuss his strategy for the relaunch of ETT. He was gathering support for his plans and the broadcaster during this period of transition.

Gharbi was officially appointed as President of ETT in late September following a recommendation from the Government to the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HAICA).  He presented his vision and strategy to a hearing session attended by representatives of civil society and various professional organisations.

A graduate of the Institute of Press and Information Sciences, Gharbi has worked as a journalist and presenter for a wide variety of television and radio stations across Tunisia.
