The EBU and C21Media have signed a letter of intent which will see the international publishing company and digital channels business take over the organization of the Rose d‘Or Awards.

For nearly 60 years the Rose d’Or Awards have defined the gold standard of excellence and achievement in Entertainment Programming.

C21 will take control of the awards, with current owner, the EBU, remaining a key stakeholder and partner.

The 2019 event will take place on Sunday 1 December, ahead of C21’s landmark Content London conference in the UK capital.

Submissions for the 58th Rose d’Or Awards will open in May.

The deal is designed to bring fresh vitality and an enhanced global presence to the Rose d’Or, which celebrates the greatest global entertainment content the business has to offer.

Commenting on the awards the EBU’s Director of Media Jean Philip De Tender said: “We’re excited to partner with C21 to give the Rose d’Or a new home and ensure the longevity of these awards which allow the world's entertainment makers to come together and celebrate their best work.”

“Submissions for the awards have grown year on year and we look forward to working closely with C21 on making the 2019 awards the best yet,“ he added.

David Jenkinson, C21Media editor-in-chief & managing director said: “The Rose d’Or is a landmark event in the entertainment industry calendar. We are excited about taking this heritage brand to the next level, through a continued partnership with the EBU, and by lending the support of all our publishing brands to support its growth.”
